In place of the Young Farmer Summer Social traditionally held in August, district Young Farmer representatives will be hosting local events around the state – from bus trips to baseball games and everything in between.
Districts 1 and 3 hosted a bus trip to Michigan earlier in June, touring wineries, breweries and seed companies, while District 6 toured an Indiana farm that produces hops. But tentative plans have also been made for a Fort Wayne TinCaps baseball game and cookout (District 2) and a trip to Fair Oaks in September (District 10). Other district activities will be planned in the near future.
For more information on your district’s young farmer event, contact your State Young Farmer Committee representative or email INFB Young Farmer program coordinator Allie Rieth, arieth@infb.org.
