(Indianapolis) – September 20, 2017 – Indiana Farm Bureau is seeking nominations for the 2017 Indiana Certified Crop Adviser of the Year. The award recognizes qualified, certified crop advisors who have performed superior service in nutrient management, soil and water management, pest management and crop production.
The award will be presented to the winner at the Indiana Certified Crop Adviser Conference in Indianapolis on December 12–13. The Indiana CCA winner will receive $1,500, and the county Farm Bureau that submits the winning application will receive $250. The Indiana CCA winner will be eligible for the National CCA Award of $1,000 and will be submitted to the International CCA Board for consideration for the International CCA of the Year Award.
The purpose of the program is to increase awareness that farmers and their service people strive to do their best to make economically-and environmentally-sound cropping decisions.
To be considered for the Indiana Certified Crop Adviser Award, the nominated CCA must be certified in Indiana and nominated by a county Farm Bureau, an active Farm Bureau member, or by the employer of the CCA.
Nominations are due to Indiana Farm Bureau on November 10 and should include the nomination form and three letters of recommendation—one from the CCA's employer and two from customers.
Other agricultural groups may also suggest nominations. These other agricultural groups should work with their county Farm Bureaus on the nomination since the nomination form must be signed by a county Farm Bureau president.
More details about the award and nomination process can be found at Indiana Certified Crop Adviser Award Nomination Form. Any further questions should be directed to Justin Schneider, INFB’s director of state government relations, at (317) 692-7835.
