Indiana Farm Bureau is using a number of tactics to reach its two primary strategic goals for 2018: growing and strengthening Farm Bureau and improving and growing member engagement.
Among the tactics:
Recruiting new volunteers
INFB has a goal to engage 200 new volunteers in our programs and initiatives this year, and since Nov. 1, the organization has added 162 new volunteers.
Welcoming more young farmers into Farm Bureau
The INFB Young Farmer Committee met with the INFB board of directors to discuss young farmer engagement in the organization and the need to focus on engaging this group at the county level. Many ideas were shared, and the committee elevated its commitment to “Defining Our Future” by developing its own action plan for 2018.
Providing orientation for new or newer county board members
Regional managers have developed and piloted orientation materials for new (or newer) county board members. Two training meetings in southwest Indiana and a county president webinar allowed INFB to collect valuable feedback, and the new materials are now ready to use.
