Hundreds of young farmers from across the state will gather in Indianapolis in January for the annual Indiana Farm Bureau Young Farmer Conference.
The 2018 Young Farmer Conference will be held Jan. 26-28 at the Indianapolis Marriott East.
“The Young Farmer Conference welcomes young agriculturists to Indianapolis each year to learn, engage and grow together,” said Allie Rieth, INFB young farmer and youth programs coordinator. “This event offers many educational and networking opportunities for individuals, students and families to explore their potential in agriculture and beyond.”
Attendees will gain valuable experience and knowledge in business planning, production, communication, technology and more. There also will be live entertainment and lots of opportunities for mixing and fellowship.
New this year will be additional workshops on Sunday morning intended to give young farmers hands-on experience to help them advance their skills. These include business management, succession planning, Young Farmer Awards development and advocacy training.
The 2018 conference also will feature a day camp for kids aged newborn though 12 (pre-registration required due to liability issues).
Registration for the Young Farmer Conference will open in early December. For registration and more information, visit Farm Bureau’s website.
