A storm system currently accelerating northeastward into eastern Canada will continue to draw cold air southward across the Plains and Midwest.
By Saturday morning, low temperatures across the southern half of High Plains should range from 15 to 25°.
Meanwhile, showers along the storm’s trailing cold front will linger across the South through the weekend and into early next week. Five-day rainfall totals could reach 1 to 3 inches or more from eastern Texas to the central and southern Appalachians.
