At the Chicago
Mercantile Exchange, live and feeder cattle futures followed lean hogs
higher. Steady wholesale values also
provided some support to prices. October
live cattle closed $.22 higher at $98.72 and December live cattle closed $1.32
higher at $104.95. September feeder
cattle closed $.77 higher at $136.85 and October feeder cattle closed $.47
higher at $134.50.
A light to moderate direct cash cattle trade is underway. Live deals in Texas are at $99, that’s generally $1 lower than last week’s weighted averages.
