Direct cash cattle markets are quiet. Some light trade was reported yesterday at $126 on the live basis, generally steady with last week, but not enough to fully establish a trend. Asking prices today are $128 to $130 live and $207+ dressed, with bids at $126 live and $202 dressed. The market will continue to monitor basis levels and wholesale demand. This week’s offering at the Fed Cattle Exchange was 474 head and in the best test in weeks, 387 sold.
