The European Union will reportedly release a statement of objections against Bayer’s acquisition of Monsanto this week.
According to Bloomberg, the objections could help Bayer and Monsanto by providing concerns that can then be addressed.
The EU Competition Commissioner said the union is concerned about competition and wants to make sure farmers will still have affordable prices with seeds and pesticides.
Bayer has signed an agreement to sell some of its crop science businesses, including its LibertyLink technology, to BASF.
