The Wisconsin Senator who authored the DairyPRIDE Act says the bipartisan bill is moving slowly in Washington but is very much alive and she’s pushing for its passage. Baldwin tells Brownfield, “We are working several angles to move it forward. One is just to get the bill passed on its own, but I’ve been also working to advance it in the context of the agriculture appropriations measure and other things that are moving through the process.”
Senator Tammy Baldwin’s bill would restrict imitation products from using dairy terms like “milk” and “cheese.” Dairy producers attending a meeting with Baldwin at Maple Ridge Dairy near Stratford, Wisconsin last Friday support the DairyPRIDE act.
